Both are equally accepted by US universities. SAT suits students strong in analytical reading and math reasoning; ACT has a science section and is more straightforward and fast-paced. Take a free practice test for both and compare your comfort level. Ideal time to attempt is Grade 11 (after your board syllabus is underway), so you have time to retake in early Grade 12 if needed.
