As an international student graduating from Germany, you can stay back for up to 18 months after completing your degree. This is done by converting your student residence permit into a post-study job-seeking residence permit, which allows you to remain in Germany and look for a job related to your field. During these 18 months, you are also allowed to work (even in temporary jobs) while searching for a full-time role. However, this stay cannot be extended beyond 18 months, it’s a fixed period.
