The SAT and ACT are accepted equally by most universities, and neither is universally easier. The ACT is generally faster-paced and traditionally included a Science section (now optional in the enhanced ACT format), while the SAT is more adaptive and reading-heavy in some areas. Students usually perform better on the test that matches their strengths and timing style. High SAT/ACT scores can help students qualify for merit-based scholarships offered by universities, but the tests themselves do not directly award scholarships.
