  • Select Date and Location: For the iBT, pick a test date and location. For the Home Edition, choose a convenient test date.
  • Complete Profile: Fill in any additional required information.
  • Register: Follow the prompts to register for your chosen test date and location. Verify all details before proceeding.
  • Pay the Fee: Pay the registration fee using a credit/debit card, PayPal, or electronic check.
  • Confirm Registration: Receive a confirmation email with your test details, including date, time, and location or Home Edition instructions.
  • Prepare: Review test day requirements and ensure you have a valid ID (i.e. passport for India). For the Home Edition, make sure your environment meets the criteria.

Fees

The TOEFL exam fees vary by country. In India, the TOEFL test costs approximately INR 16,900 (US$202.29), which includes the exam fee, a score report, and up to four score reports sent to universities of the candidate’s choice. Additional charges may apply for services such as late registration, test rescheduling, score reviews for speaking or writing, and test cancellation. The fees for the TOEFL PBT (Paper-Based Test) and iBT (Internet-Based Test) are the same. Payments can be made using credit/debit cards, electronic checks, or PayPal, with other payment methods available depending on the country.
