Test Dates
There will be two test sitting for the TMUA for 2026 entry:
- Test sitting 1: 13 and 14 October 2025. Book this test between Thursday 31 July 2025 and Monday 29 September 2025.

Note: If you are applying to Cambridge and are required to sit the TMUA you must appear for the October test sitting. All other candidates can choose whether to sit the test in October or January.
How to Prepare for TMUA
The focus of the TMUA is on mathematical thinking. It uses mathematics you will have already learned in your school studies, so there is no need to take a preparation course or to do much preparation beyond familiarising yourself with the test format and style of questions.
Free practice materials are available on the TMUA website.
TMUA Costs
The TMUA costs £75 for candidates in the UK and Republic of Ireland. For those sitting elsewhere, it costs £130.
Next Step
You must be registered in advance to sit the TMUA.
- If you’re planning to take the test in October 2025 (test sitting 1), you can register for the TMUA from 31 July 2025. The registration deadline is 29 September 2025.
