The Émile Boutmy Scholarship

Sciences Po created the Émile Boutmy scholarship, named after the founder of Sciences Po (1872), in order to welcome the very best international students from outside the European Union.

Overview

The Émile Boutmy Scholarship fund benefits from the generous support of its sponsors (benefactors, companies, and foundations) who are eager to allow the most deserving international students to study at Sciences Po

Eligibility Requirements

  • First time applicants to Sciences Po
  • From a non-European Union state
  • Whose household does not file taxes within the European Union
  • Who have been admitted to the Undergraduate or Master’s programme.

Selection Criteria 

  • This scholarship is awarded based on merit and according to the type of profile sought for this programme.

Total Amount

  • A total exemption or an exemption of €9,500 from tuition fees.
  • Note: The Emile Boutmy scholarship is linked to the programme of study at the time of admission to Sciences Po. Therefore, students who enrol in a dual degree programme directly in the third year lose their Boutmy scholarship.

How to Apply?

  • Applicants from foreign secondary schools must indicate that they are applying to the Émile Boutmy scholarship in the “Financial information” section of their Sciences Po application
  • The deadline for undergraduate programmes is Tuesday, January 20, 2026 (results before mid-May).
