What is SLAT?
The Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) is the entrance test for undergraduate law programmes offered by Symbiosis Law Schools across India. It is a one-hour, computer-based test that assesses skills such as logical reasoning, legal reasoning, analytical reasoning, reading comprehension and general knowledge.
SLAT provides admission opportunities across four Symbiosis Law Schools (SLS Pune, SLS Hyderabad, SLS Nagpur and SLS Noida) for students aspiring to pursue five-year integrated law programmes.

Test Structure
SLAT is a one-hour computer-based test comprising 60 objective questions carrying 60 marks. There is no negative marking, and all five sections are mandatory.

Candidates can appear for SLAT on both test dates. The best of the two attempts is considered for the admission process.
SLAT Eligibility
Candidates must have completed or be appearing for their Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
- A minimum of 45% marks in Class 12 or equivalent is required.
- Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category require a minimum of 40% marks.
- Students appearing for their Class 12 examination in the current academic year may also apply, provided they fulfil the eligibility requirements at the time of admission.

How to Register for SLAT 2027?
Candidates can complete the SLAT and programme registration through the official SLAT website.
Step 1: Visit the official SLAT website and click on Register.
Step 2: Fill in the required personal and academic details and click on Save & Continue.
Step 3: Enter the OTP sent to the registered mobile number/email address and complete the verification.
Step 4: Pay the applicable registration fee.
The SLAT registration fee is ₹2,250 per test, while candidates applying to a specific programme must also pay the applicable ₹1,000 programme registration fee, plus taxes.

Admission Process after SLAT
Candidates are shortlisted for the Personal Interaction (PI) round based on their SLAT performance. The admission process is conducted separately by each Symbiosis Law School and programme.
For the final merit list, the SLAT score is scaled to 70 marks, while the PI carries 30 marks, making the total merit score 100. Candidates shortlisted for a particular programme must participate in all required components of the admission process to remain eligible.
Where Can You Take SLAT?
SLAT is conducted in computer-based mode across multiple cities in India. The latest official test-city list published by Symbiosis includes 68 cities, with candidates allowed to select up to three preferred test cities. The 2027 test-city list should be checked on the official website when the application portal is updated.
