About CEPT University
CEPT University, Ahmedabad, traces its origins to 1962, when the Ahmedabad Education Society established the School of Architecture (SA). A School of Planning (SP) followed in 1972, while the institutions that became the School of Building Science and Technology and School of Interior Design were established in 1982 and 1991 respectively. CEPT became a university under the Gujarat State Legislature Act in 2005 and was recognised by the University Grants Commission in 2007.
Today, CEPT brings together disciplines including architecture, planning, design, technology and management, with a particular focus on the built environment and human habitats.

CEPT’s Bachelor’s in Interior Design continues to appear among its academic programmes, but admissions to the programme have been closed since 2023.
The CEPT Foundation Program
One of the defining features of CEPT’s undergraduate education is the CEPT Foundation Program (CFP).
Students from different undergraduate disciplines begin by developing foundational skills in areas such as observation, visualisation, drawing, analysis, interpretation, representation, making, reading, research and writing.

Fees and scholarships
For the 2026–27 academic year, CEPT lists an annual fee of ₹5.08 lakh for its undergraduate programmes.
