About this Scholarship
This scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as well as several Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.
Application Criteria
- Your nationality is non-EEA.
- You are applying for a full-time bachelor’s or master’s programme at one of the participating Dutch higher education institutions.
- You meet the specific requirements of the institution of your choice. You can find these on the website of the institution.
- You do not have a degree from an education institution in the Netherlands.

The application for the academic year 2026-2027 opened on 1 November 2025. Please check the website of the institution you want to apply to for the specific deadline(s).
Next Step
- Apply for the chosen program via Studielink ( official registration and application portal for programmes at Dutch higher education institutions).
- Your chosen university receives your application and begins processing it. Ensure the application for the program is complete and submitted before the deadline.
- Once received an admission offer from the university, you can apply for the NL Scholarship through the university’s platform.
