For the 2026–27 academic session, Jamia Millia Islamia has started accepting applications for admissions through multiple pathways. While some programmes, such as certain B.Sc programmes and those offered by the Faculty of Dentistry (Jamia Millia Islamia) accept scores from national-level examinations such as CUET, JEE Main, NEET, and NATA, several others, such as certain B.A. (Hons.) programmes, continue to admit students through the university’s own entrance examination known as the Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Test (JMI ET).

Since the entrance examination applies to a wide variety of courses across different faculties, the exact test pattern, syllabus, and selection process may vary depending on the programme.

Candidates should check the fee applicable to their chosen programme before submitting the application.

Step 3: Entrance Examination (JMI ET)

The test is designed to evaluate candidates on subjects relevant to the programme they have applied for. It is conducted at two levels:

  • Level 1: A 1½-hour written test consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). These questions assess subject-specific knowledge as well as general knowledge relevant to the programme.
  • Level 2: Candidates who qualify in the written test are invited for an Interview, where their suitability, interest in the programme, and overall preparedness may be evaluated.

Step 4: Selection and Admission

After the examination, Jamia Millia Islamia prepares merit lists based on candidates’ performance in the entrance test. Candidates whose names appear on the list are then invited to complete the admission formalities in accordance with the university’s prescribed guidelines and timelines.
