CUET-UG 2026

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2026 is a national entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission into undergraduate programmes at Central and participating universities across India. It aims to provide a standardised, fair platform for university admissions.

Introduction

CUET provides a common platform and equal opportunity to students nationwide, including those from rural and remote regions, by standardising the higher education admission process. A single examination enables candidates to reach a wide range of institutions and simplifies the admissions journey by reducing reliance on a multitude of individual university tests. 

For academic session 2026- 27, the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores will be used for admission into UG Programmes in all Central Universities/ Participating Universities. The list of Central Universities/Participating Universities may be seen at https://cuet.nta.nic.in/universities/

Application Fees

Candidates may choose up to a maximum of 05 subjects including languages and General Aptitude Test. Fees will be calculated based on the number of subjects chosen by the candidates. The following fee structure is applicable for CUET (UG) – 2026:

  • Total subjects offered: 37 (13 languages + 23 domain-specific subjects + 1 general aptitude test)

Exam Medium
  • Conducted in 13 Indian languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu).

Choice & Syllabus
  • Candidates may choose up to 5 subjects (including language and general aptitude) regardless of their Class 12 subject combinations.
  • Language Tests: Focus on reading comprehension, vocabulary, and literary aptitude.
  • Domain Subjects: Based on NCERT syllabi.
  • General Aptitude Test: Includes general knowledge, current affairs, reasoning, quantitative ability.

Exam Pattern
  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT).
  • Questions per paper: 50 compulsory questions.
  • Duration: 60 minutes per test paper.
  • Marking Scheme:
    +5 for correct answers
    −1 for incorrect answers
