AILET 2027 at NLU Delhi

The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) for admission to its five-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme and one year LL.M. Programme. Situated in Sector 14, Dwarka, New Delhi, NLU Delhi is a specialised law university offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in law.

Total Duration: 120 minutes

AILET 2027 will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions carrying 150 marks. Candidates will receive one mark for every correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

Legal principles may be used in the Logical Reasoning section, but candidates are not required to have prior legal knowledge or technical understanding.

AILET 2027 Eligibility
  • Candidates must have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination with at least 45% marks in aggregate. The minimum required marks are 42% for OBC candidates and 40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
  • Candidates appearing for their Class 12 examination in 2026–27 are also eligible to apply. However, they must obtain the required 10+2 aggregate marks by the notified cut-off date.
  • Candidates placed in a compartment in the year of admission will be treated as ineligible.
  • There is no minimum or maximum age limit for appearing in AILET 2027.
Where Will AILET 2027 Be Conducted?

AILET 2027 will be conducted in offline, Pen and Paper (OMR sheet-based) mode across the following cities:

Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Dehradun, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hisar, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.

Candidates can select up to three test-centre preferences while completing the application form. The university may allot a different test centre depending on administrative or technical requirements.

How to Apply for AILET 2027

Candidates can apply online through the official National Law University Delhi website.

Applicants will need to provide their personal and academic details and upload the required documents while completing the online application form.

AILET 2027 Application Fee
  • The application fee is ₹3,000.
  • The application fee for SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates is ₹1,000.
  • SC/ST and women candidates who are Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants are exempted from payment of the online application fee.
B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Seats at NLU Delhi

For the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme, NLU Delhi lists 120 seats in total, including seats for Indian candidates as well as Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO candidates. The Indian seats are distributed across the applicable reservation categories, with horizontal reservation for PwD candidates.

If NLU Delhi is on your list of law schools, AILET is the entrance examination you need to take. Unlike most National Law Universities that admit students through CLAT, NLU Delhi conducts its own entrance examination.
