For the 2027 admission cycle, UCEED will be conducted on Sunday, 17 January 2027, in the forenoon. IIT Bombay has announced the examination date, while the detailed UCEED 2027 schedule, eligibility criteria, registration process and other information are expected to be released on the official website by 1 October 2026.
UCEED scores are used for admission to BDes programmes at the following seven participating institutes:

Step 1: Register for UCEED 2027
Registration for UCEED is conducted online through the official UCEED website.
For reference, the UCEED 2026 registration fee for Indian nationals was ₹2,000 for female candidates and candidates belonging to the SC, ST or PwD categories, and ₹4,000 for all other candidates and foreign nationals. A late fee was applicable after the regular registration deadline.
Who can appear for UCEED?
While the detailed eligibility criteria for UCEED 2027 are yet to be announced, candidates usually have to satisfy three criteria relating to age, number of attempts and the year of their qualifying examination. Candidates could attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, in consecutive years.
Step 2: Appear for UCEED 2027

Marks: Total 300 (Part A – 200 marks; Part B – 100 marks)
The examination consists of two compulsory parts:
- Part A: Computer-based test (2 hours)
- Part B: Drawing and design aptitude questions answered in a physical answer booklet (1 hour)

Step 3: Check results and download the UCEED Score Card
Candidates will be able to check their UCEED 2027 results through the official UCEED website once the results are announced.
Candidates who qualify will receive an All India Rank. However, obtaining a UCEED rank does not by itself guarantee admission to a BDes programme. Candidates must separately complete the BDes admission process and meet the eligibility requirements of the institute to which they are applying.
Step 4: Apply for BDes programmes
Qualifying in UCEED and applying for BDes admission are two separate steps.
Candidates who qualify UCEED can apply through the BDes admission process for the participating institutes, subject to the eligibility criteria specified for the relevant admission cycle. Seat allocation is based on factors including All India Rank, reservation category and seat availability.

Students planning to take UCEED 2027 do not need to wait for the registration portal to begin preparing.
1. Check your eligibility.
The final 2027 eligibility criteria should be confirmed when the Information Brochure is released.
2. Start practising Part A.
Build skills in visualisation, spatial reasoning, observation, analytical reasoning, creativity and design sensitivity.
3. Practise drawing regularly.
Part B tests drawing and design aptitude. Work on proportion, perspective, composition, line quality and visual communication.
4. Solve previous UCEED papers.

5. Keep track of BDes admission requirements.
