 What is BITSAT

  • BITSAT stands for “BITS Admission Test”, a computer-based online test for admission to integrated first-degree programmes (B.E. & B.Pharm.) at BITS Pilani’s three main India campuses: Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa, and Hyderabad.
  • Admissions to these programmes are made purely on merit, with BITSAT score being central to candidate’s ranking for offers.

  • At Pilani Campus: B.E. in Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Electronics and Communication, Mathematics and Computing, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engg., Environmental and Sustainability Engg & B. Pharm.
  • At K K Birla Goa Campus: B.E. in Chemical, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Electronics and Computer Engg., Mathematics and Computing, Mechanical, Environmental and Sustainability Engg. 
  • BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus: B.E. in Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Mathematics and Computing, Mechanical, Environmental and Sustainability Engg & B. Pharm.
  • Dual-degree / 2+2 International Programmes: Based on BITSAT score, candidates may also opt for selected 2+2 joint-collaborative programmes with foreign universities in Australia and USA (e.g., RMIT University; Iowa State University; University at Buffalo; Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, etc.) spending initial years at BITS and later years abroad.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • For B.E. (Except B.E. Environmental and Sustainability Engg.): Must secure at least 75% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), and at least 60% marks individually in each of PCM subjects (including theory + practical).
  • For B.Pharm., and B.E. Environmental and Sustainability Engg. Programme:  Eligibility is similar but allows 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics. Aggregate 75% in PCM/PCB, and 60% in individual subjects.

Exam Pattern and Format

  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Test Structure (130 questions):
    • Part I: Physics (30 questions)
    • Part II: Chemistry (30 questions)
    • Part III: English Proficiency (10 questions) and Logical Reasoning (20 questions)
    • Part IV: Mathematics or Biology (For B.Pharm. candidates) (40 questions)
  • Marking:  +3 marks for each correct answer; –1 for each incorrect; 0 for unattempted. 
  • The score is made available to the candidate on the screen immediately after the test and thus is designed to be transparent. 
  • All questions are of objective type MCQs and based on current NCERT syllabus.

  • BITSAT 2026 applications are now open till May 5, 2026 (Tue). This is a hard deadline; no further extensions will be provided; Session 1 date has passed. 
  • Application Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
