# What is the SAT exam pattern and how is it scored?

The digital SAT has two sections: Reading and Writing, and Mathematics. The total testing time is 2 hours and 14 minutes, excluding the 10-minute break. The Reading and Writing section lasts 64 minutes, while Mathematics lasts 70 minutes.
Each section is divided into two modules. The total SAT score ranges from 400 to 1600, with each section scored from 200 to 800. The test uses adaptive testing, so the difficulty of the second module depends partly on performance in the first module.
