# Is it better to pursue an undergraduate degree in Japan or go there for postgraduate studies?

Both pathways are possible and have their own advantages.
[Studying in Japan](https://www.collegeaccessprogram.in/blog/why-study-in-japan/) after Class 12 allows students to experience the country's academic environment earlier, develop Japanese-language skills and build familiarity with the local culture during their undergraduate years.

Completing a bachelor's degree in India before pursuing a master's degree in Japan provides more time to explore academic interests, choose a specialisation, develop research skills and prepare for postgraduate study. It also allows students to strengthen their academic profile and gain relevant experience before applying.

The better pathway depends on your academic goals, finances, language proficiency and the availability of suitable programmes.
