# How can I prepare for the legal aptitude section?

Do not spend most of your time memorising legal provisions. CLAT's Legal Reasoning section gives you passages containing principles or rules and tests your ability to identify, infer and apply them to situations. Practise passage-based legal reasoning regularly and stay broadly aware of contemporary legal and public-policy issues.
